KYUEMON is an Arita ware brand from Saga, Japan. The founder, Minoru Kubota, used new porous technology to inject environmental protection concepts into Arita ware. With his creativity in developing the application of porous ceramic technology, he won the "Japan Science Agency Commissioner's Award" for his product technology. Recognized by Japan and overseas, Blue Bottle's filter cups were designed by researchers from the MIT Department of Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and are manufactured by Kyuemon Kubota Minoru Ceramics Co., Ltd.
A family-run Arita porcelain brand. A forerunner of incorporating eco-friendly concept into Arita porcelain products. With the belief of 'Ceramic is not only an object of art but also a potential ECO-friendly product', its founder Minoru Kubota was dedicated to exploring porous ceramic technology and rewarded by the Science and Technology Office of the Japanese Government in 1996. Kyuemon is also the designated manufacturer of Blue Bottle ceramic dripper designed by MIT, ensuring the water moves efficiently across the ground coffee for the most even extraction.
